Hi Everyone.
I would just like to say :- Merry Christmas, & Happy New Year. To all who visit The Class of 64's web site. And all of you that come to the live gigs we do. We hope you continue to do both in 2008.
All the Best, Alan Lovell
Pete’s Parlez
It’s been a while since we did our last gig, a TV show in Dessau Germany. It was nice to see the ‘boys’ again after our previous gig in Skegness. After a limited amount of rehearsal I think we were all more then pleased with our performance in Skegness. The TV show consisted of hanging about the dressing room in full make up for hours on end before finally doing ‘Silence Is Golden.’.
I’ve spent much of my time between ‘64’ gigs putting finishing touches to an album I have been co - writing and producing with Alan Silson; another original member of Smokie. It’s called ‘Solitary Bird’ and is available at iTunes and Alan’s website. Full versions of some of the tracks can be heard at www.myspace.com/asilson. Incidentally the album includes one song called ‘Drive Me Wild’ that was written by me, Chip and Alan. Chip performs a terrific ‘cameo’ vocal on this track ...........It’s one of the tracks you can hear on myspace.
I have of course been partaking of much Granddaughter cuddling. I do believe she’s a genius. It’s quite good this getting old business.
I was in Regensburg , South Germany last month, recording drum tracks for an album by another original member of you know who. Chris Norman and I have been close chums for years now, through the Smokie years and beyond. We don’t see other that often and it’s always great to meet and catch up on the latest news.
Next on the agenda is a bit more rehearsing sometime in the next few weeks ...........................Watch this space.
